Yvonne's academic
background includes an Associates of Arts degree from Lubbock Christian
and was an Art major at Texas Tech with an emphasis on painting.
She has had
advanced
studies in printmaking at the Glassell School of Art, in Houston, TX.
Advanced oil painting studies from Bill Komodore in Dallas, TX. Advanced
watercolor studies with Pat Kochan in Dallas, TX. and "any art related
involvement I could find in the various places we lived".
Yvonne
has taught printmaking workshops in Houston, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia.
She
also taught drawing at the university of Houston and has taught acrylic
painting at her Houston studio.
She recently moved to
Lubbock from the Dallas area and focuses on watercolor, collage and
monoprinting. Yvonne recently complete a year's study in experimental
acrylic techniques.
She
has been in over 40 juried and one-woman shows. Yvonne is very happy to
"resettle" to Lubbock after traveling and living in various parts of the
world, but most loved Houston and Dallas.
She
is treasurer for the West Texas Watercolor Society, and member of
Southwestern Water Society, and the Visual Arts Society of Texas.
Yvonne views Lubbock
as having an interesting and thriving art community that she enjoys
being a part of. "I feel so at home in West Texas, I truly missed the
BIG SKY of my childhood. the openness of the plains is reflected in the
warm and open attitude of the people of the caprock."
